Agrotourist is becoming more and more important of multifunctional development of rural areas. The main aim of this paper was to describe the current stage of agrotoutism, which is important function in rural areas it social-economical transformation period in the świętokrzyskie voivodship at present. The development of agrotourism and rural tourism could be an alternative form of activities for small farms, which are not profitable in the świętokrzyskie voivodship at present. Among all forms of tourism, agrotourism is particularly consistent with the principles of sustainable development as it is based on attractive natural environment and landscape. The development of this activity brings farmars some incomes and possibilities of getting other profits of social and cultural character. The author of this article performs a complex analysis of the tourist development in the Pińczów powiat. This analysis was done on the basis of “The project of the tourist development in the świętokrzyskie voivodship”prepared by the presidential office. The current tendencies in the world-wide tourism have been taken into consideration while discussing this problem. The place and role of tourism both in the state policy and regional policy have been shown in the state and regional documents. The author stresses the natural, historical and cultural potential of the Pińczów powiat. Due to the wealth of historical and cultural artifacts and diversified natural environment, agrotourism should be preferred in the Pińczów powiat owing to a high percentage of the areas protected by law and tendencies in the current tourism. The local and province authorities were obliged to improve and invest in agrotourist infrastructure also using the Europen Union funds. For a few years there has been an increasing interest in the offer of agrot-ourism farms located in areas with exceptional natural and cultural values. Wy-sowa is an example of such localities - this is a small spa village located in Beskid Niski efficiently combining tourist and spa functions, attracting tourists with de-veloped tourist facilities presenting numerous values of the natural and cultural environment. The study is focused on the tourist offer of three selected, most popular Czech spas, i.e. Karlovy Vary, (Karlsbad), Mariánské Lázně, (Marienbad) and Františkovy Lázně, (Franzensbad), also referred to as the French Riviera of Central Europe. In the context of communication system they are located in close vicinity to each other and not far from the German border. Their tourist offer is abundant and diversified. Everyone can find there something for him/herself, both a bather and a broadly approached tourist, in each season of the year, having various financial resources at the disposal, primarily due to a well-developed multi-functionality of these spa resorts. The conducted analyses allowed learning more about the studied locations, comparing them and drawing adequate conclusions. It should be added that all three places are applying to be included on the UNESCO World Heritage List (as having the most valuable places and objects on the global scale).
