In the article a technology of the aerial laser scanning (LIDAR) was cha-racterized as well as the system architecture its drawbacks and advantages and a precision analysis. The precision analysis of the aerial laser scanning was carried out on the basis of the lidar measurements of Krakow data collected in 2006. For the precision test of the X, Y, Z coordinates two objects were used: the University of Agriculture (Balicka street in Krakow) and the Wawel Hill. In the process of the precision analysis calculations of the mean square errors of the position RMSEX RMSEY RMSEXY , mean square error of the height RMSEZ and the height precision DZ were proposed as well as calculation of the percentage of the deviation frequency.

An analysis of results of the process of automatic classification of the points cloud gained from the aerial laser scanning was presented. Research was conducted on the separated part of the area of 21.37 ha from the city Brzeg. The tested object comprised 3048246 lidar points. The automatic classification was performed with the use of the following programs: Tiltan Tlid (v. 3.21), TerraSolid (v. 011.007) and VRMesh Survey (v. 6.1).To the edition of the cloud of points an application Furgo Viewer was used.On the basis of qualitative, quantitative and visual analysis conducted on the classified cloud of points, conclusions regarding the use of exploited applications were drawn. ...
