In the article a technology of the aerial laser scanning (LIDAR) was cha-racterized as well as the system architecture its drawbacks and advantages and
a precision analysis.
The precision analysis of the aerial laser scanning was carried out on the basis of the lidar measurements of Krakow data collected in 2006. For the precision test of the X, Y, Z coordinates two objects were used: the University of Agriculture (Balicka street in Krakow) and the Wawel Hill.
In the process of the precision analysis calculations of the mean square
errors of the position RMSEX RMSEY RMSEXY , mean square error of the height RMSEZ and the height precision DZ were proposed as well as calculation of the percentage of the deviation frequency.
