Summary:

The paper presents methodics of investigation surface movements of a landslide, detected with geodetic methods, in classic and modern approach. Geodetic methods of landslides investigation resolve themselves into periodic observations of control points established on landslide`s surface and beyond it`s limits.
The aim is to achieve vectors of displacement and related velocities. For observations of slow creeping motions static GPS technique, electronic tacheometry of high accuracy and precise levelling are proposed. Fast changing processes (earthflow, soilflow) require different methods, like RTK GPS with simultaneous participation of few receivers
